[webproducers] need your help...

Hey all-
We're working on the new Web Producers/Project Managers Organization (WPO)
website and we need your help! We need content for some sections and would
like your input. We want the new site to be a resource that we can all use
to work better and the only thing that we ask for is your input and
involvement in any way you can. Plese keep in mind that WP is totally
not-for-profit (we've never seen a dollar/pound/peso/krona/franc/euro and
don't expect to) and exists to help us all out so please give back to the WP
community.
For the resources section:
While we will include stuff on usability, IA, design and programming we
really need your recommendations for project management/producing. Was there
a favorite book you used as a new producer or you tell your associate
producers to read? Do you go to gantthead.com? Or what other must-haves?
Boiler Plates/Downloads:
So often WP members and list subscribers ask for feedback or sources for
standard documents like Contractor Agreements, Web Contracts, Scope
Documents, Specifications, etc. There are sites that already have some of
these things like (gantthead.com) but often you have to be a paid subscriber
to get them. We'd like to include basic boiler plate documents here to help
give people a reference and perhaps get things a little closer to a standard
for the industy to help us all. Creating these documents is a lot of work
and we don't want anyone to give up anything they don't feel comfortable
giving out, nor do we want to get anyone in trouble for giving out something
their firm would get upset about. However, I know many of us have be
fortunate enough to see model documents from others that helped us get a
frame of reference for what should/shouldn't be included in such documents
so please help here in any way you can. If you have the time and can compose
a dummy template that would be great. If you have already created something
long ago and are willing to share (after you strip out confidential info)
that's great too.
FAQ's
We'd like to create an ongoing document that lists the must have's for being
a Producer/Project Manager. There are certain questions that seem to come up
regularly on the list and it would be great if we can get an archive of the
basic stuff here. Please e-mail any suggestions you have.
Worst Project
Also, we're looking to assemble a "worst projects" section (no company or
client names necessary) so please write anything up and send it to us).
Also, if anyone is a good writer and interested in writing content for the
site please let me know.
Please e-mail me directly at morry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Best,
Morry
