When you enter into a job without adequate definition of the task on paper,
whether a contract or a letter, you leave yourself open for getting nickel
and dimed to death. Every contract job is exactly that, a contract job, and
requires preparation, agreement and limits on the work by definition.

If you are stuck after the fact in such a situation, face to face
negotiation is the safe way out.
"We agreed that.............", "You requested that......... not
this.................".
"How would you like to resolve this so we can keep working and finish the
job?"
