These are good points. I also recommend writing your proposal as
concisely as possible and puting in a glossary as well since
some terms and their use varies among organizations. This way,
everyone is on the same page with regards to their meaning.

Similarly, when providing a quote, I include explainations of
what the client is actually paying for and why - e.g. define
what QA is and why its necessary, etc. Obviously, this isn't
necessary for all clients but nearly 7 years into this business
I still come across newbies.
