Job summary:

Reporting to the Producer Manager, the producer is the technical consultant
and project manager involved in the entire client life cycle. The producer
challenge is to maximise both the profitability of the sale and customer
satisfaction with it (with a view to generating further sales), through
pre-sales technical consultancy and needs analysis, specification and
project management, and advising on future product development.

We are looking for a Producer to join our team, based in our Providence
office. We can offer you a good mix of interesting and challenging work
across the full project life-cycle, and the opportunity to tackle some
complex business and technological issues at the heart of online information
businesses.

Our clients are academic or professional content providers, who are seeking
to maximise their markets through the Internet. We offer them a range of
solutions, including bespoke builds, on both ASP and licensed software
models.

Ingenta is a thriving technology company, which started life as a spin-out
from Bath University (UK) in 1997. We now employ 130 people and have offices
in both the UK (Oxford and Bath) and the US (Providence RI).

We are looking for someone to join us full-time in Providence, who is able
to prove they have the skills we are looking for. As this is a challenging
cross-disciplinary role, the combination of skills is more important than
experience in any particular area; although some experience in some of them
would definitely be a positive! You will most likely have at least a couple
of years? work experience in a professional environment, and you will
probably have a bachelor's degree.

About you:

You are intelligent and self-starting, and motivated to deliver value in all
that you do. You enjoy solving problems, and are very good at explaining
complex problems to others, both in speaking and in writing. You are
outgoing and at ease with meeting new people, and know how to be
professional when dealing with clients. You are also extremely organised and
methodical, and you perform well under pressure and enjoy rising to new
challenges. You may or may not have a technology background, but you find
technology interesting and engaging and will at least have dabbled with
elements of it yourself. You also have a business head, and enjoy figuring
out where and how organisations make money.

Summary of Activities and Responsibilities of the Producer

* Technical pre-sales support

- Providing internal consultancy, sales support and leadership on our
soon-to-be-released platform, Ingenta Connect
- Attending and presenting at meetings with prospects and clients where
relevant
- Advising new business team (and/or client) on appropriate solutions for
clients
- Providing consultancy to clients to help them resolve issues concerning
data, technology or business models ? and their overlap
- Creating proposal summary documents
- Writing technical sections of proposals if required
- Estimating and costing
- Checking proposals for risk areas

* Post sales support

- Project management through to implementation
- Providing consultancy to clients on product development
- Change/development request management and ongoing communication with
clients through this process
- Resource scheduling
- Liaising between sales, client and technical staff
