[webproducers] Linked-In -- anyone actually using it?

Over the years I've "Linked-In" with a growing number of people; I mindlessly
click the "Accept Invitation" button, and move on with my life. My
question: has anyone actually used it -- achieved some sort of professional
gain from it? Or does everyone within a particular industry just end up
with a gigantic list of the same people?
