I've heard of firms charging based on overall project not necessarily
specific duties. Usually it seems that firms have rates for different
roles like Project Manager, Front End Programming (html, java script)
Backend Programming, Design, IA, Content. And then of course there are
rates for the ranges within each such as Assciate, Senior and Director.
When you have a specific project you figure the hours and who would be
involved and that would be the rate. That being said the rates reange
dramatically on the type of firm. I've heard of as low as $100/hr and as
high as $400 hr for senior level people. Of course this all depends on the
types of firms, clients, and types of projects.
That's all I know.
