Hey all-
 
In the six or eight months since WebProducers (WP) was started the list has
grown from just about a dozen subscribers to over 200. 
 
People on the list come from all over the world including Brazil, Australia,
the UK, Sweden, Canada, Portugal and the United States and more
 
We represent in-house departments, web development agencies (stand alone,
and part of advertising and pr agencies), as well as educational
institutions, freelancers, and unfortunately in the current economy,
non-working webproducers
 
The range of experience and types of skills are as diverse as the use of the
term webproducers and project manager. Some of us come from programming
backgrounds while others were designers or IA's or something completely
unrelated.  Some focus on budgets, timelines, managing resources and writing
project scopes and proposals ,while others do a mixture of project
management and development for example.  
 
I hope that we continue to use this forum as a way to learn, share ideas and
resources, and I think it's appropriate at this point to share some of the
ideas people have presented on what they would like to see and get from WP.
 
Our face to face get togethers in NY have been a success and very helpful.
I've heard from others that they would like to setup similar things in other
areas
 
It's actually a lot easier than it may seem and I'm happy to help out so I
hope people will contact me about arranging get together in other areas. 
 
We've gotten a lot of requests for having "productive" meetings, talks,
discussions, not merely social/networking at our cocktails and conversations
get togethers and I want to know if anyone has any specific requests. Do you
know of someone or would you like to do a talk about a specific topic? 
 
Creating a charter and making the group a real organization with local
chapters and organization officers etc. (anyone interested- looks great on a
resume :-) ) 
 
The website- making it useful and pretty
 
Please let me know if you have any other ideas.
