Greetings to all:
On the way to work Monday morning 07/28/2003, I found a single almost adult
Tundra Swan at Leggett's Pond on Hwy 58W in Halifax County. I was able to stop
and got a good look at the bird for about 10 minutes before I had to leave to
get to work.
On the way home on Monday evening, I stopped to see if the Swan was still
there. Even though the swan was gone, I did talk to a woman whose husband
works on the Leggett farm. She informed me that the swan flew off when she and
her children arrived at the pond to go for a swim. She also informed me that
the swan arrived at the pond on Friday 07/25/2003.
I stopped by on the way to work this morning and again on the way home this
evening but no swan.
