Utah and California also have some decent county birding stuff on web pages.
http://www.utahbirds.org/counties/index.html
http://fog.ccsf.cc.ca.us/~jmorlan/county.htm
These are pretty complete sites, but actually, Sue, I was thinking that less
was better in our case, at least for getting things started. I think listing
each county, then each birder's name and their total species count for that
county (assuming they are above the minimum), would be all we need at first.
I don't think posting complete lists for each birder in each county is
really necessary - certainly not just when you're getting the site started.
Besides, I will be embarassed that anyone in the world will be able to see
that I don't have Brown-headed Nuthatch in Prince Edward County. (Did I
mention that already?)
With time, I agree that maps, birding site info, and all that will also be
worth adding. But for starters, I'd say go for text-only, short-and-sweet.
