We also have a female Purple Finch that has been with us for several weeks.
However, the Red-breasted Nuthatch that was with us most of last winter has
not returned.

Subject: [va-richmond-general] 10 minutes at Henricus
A quick dash to Henricus after a milk and bread run at the store was a
breath of fresh air. Highlights in about 10 minutes:
Gadwall
American Wigeon
Wood duck (all drakes 8+)
Mallard
Northern Shoveler
Canada Goose
Great Blue Heron-(very frisky-none smoking and some sitting in nests)
American Kestrel
Eastern Phoebe
Northern Flicker
Myrtle Warbler
Ruby crowned Kinglet
Belted Kingfisher
Eastern Bluebird
Forster's Tern...
and a very impresssive Beaver lodge.
* Had 1 Female Purple Finch in the yard in Chester today along with Yellow
Bellied Sapsucker, Brown Creeper and Red-shouldered Hawk.5 turkeys were
foraging up the road on Christmas Eve-Eve.
