Mr. Alonzo Logan the inmate who escaped from Dillwyn Correctional Facility on
Satuday parked a van, that he stole right after he escaped , on Willis Church
Road at the vacant home of a relative. This is right by Malvern Hill unit of
Richmond National Battlefield Park.We should stay away from there until this
human predator is back in a prison cell.
While looking at the park service nationwide emergency management news site to
see if the SWAT teams from the D.C metro area or Shenandoah National Park had
been called in to help the local and state agencies protect the park and find
the fugitive I saw this . The civil and Criminal Sections of the U.S Attorney's
Office will hopefully have fun with this firm and some employees. A spill like
this is negligence.

Chemicals Spilled Into Park Stream
During the morning hours of Tuesday, November 13th, the park’s natural resource
specialist discovered large amounts of foam in a creek in the park’s Fort
Darling/Drewery's Bluff unit. The foam was found throughout most of the creek,
which drains into the James River. A unified command was set up with
Chesterfield County, the Virginia State Department of Environmental Quality,
and the Environmental Protection Agency. Investigators determined that an
asphalt plant near the Fort Darling unit had released large amounts of
styrene/butadiene copolymer latex mixed with water while switching out tanks at
their facility. The chemical is used as a bonding agent in manufacturing
asphalt. A cleanup contractor began working at the spill site on Wednesday and
was scheduled to finish up on Thursday. EPA hired another contractor to oversee
the cleanup operation. The unit has been closed to the public. An investigation
is underway. [Submitted by Tim Mauch, Chief Ranger]
