[va-richmond-general] Yard Woodpeckers, etc.

Yesterday we had two Pileated Woodpeckers noisily making holes in a sycamore
tree in our backyard and they were back today. It may be two males since they
are doing a lot of squawking at each other. Also yesterday we had the first
Brown Creeper about 20 feet away from our window, a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a
female Hairy Woodpecker, about 4 Red-bellied Woodpeckers, as well as the normal
residents: cardinals (about 8-10), Carolina Wrens (at least 2), titmice,
chickadees, Blue Jays (at least 3), several pairs of Downy Woodpeckers, a Brown
Thrasher on the deck rail, plenty of White-throated Sparrows singing, a few
Red-shouldered Hawks, at least one Belted Kingfisher over the creek, and a
Great Blue Heron in it. A pretty active couple of days considering it was all
in the back yard! And I forgot to mention the crows.
