[va-richmond-general] Henricus 11/28/04

I paid a brief visit to Henricus this morning, viewing from the
road/overlooks and hiking down the boardwalk and a short distance on the River
Trail.
Note: the boardwalk is extremely slippery, it's actually safest to walk on
the
(wet) leaves.
Species seen/heard:
Canada Goose
Wood Duck
Mallard
N. Shoveler
Gadwall
Am. Wigeon
Ring-necked Duck
Turkey Vulture
Red-shouldered Hawk
Ring-billed Gull
Belted Kingfisher
Downy Woodpecker
Flicker
Pileated Woodpecker
Am. Crow
Carolina Chickadee
Brown Creeper
Carolina Wren
Winter Wren (2 seen from the boardwalk)
N. Mockingbird
Eurostar
Cardinal
E. Towhee
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow (lots along the river, several singing)
Am. Goldfinch
