But the Windex commercial isn't comedy nor intended to be, while the
Warner Bros. cartoon specifically is. To me, that's the defining difference
: SEJW uses the (too) lighthearted portrayal to sell a product. Wile E.
Coyote et al is an entertainment program designed to make you laugh.
I provided the SEJW URL so that people who sincerely share the concern can
contact the company, as I did. Here it is again in case you didn't see it
the first time:

Were you being sarcastic when you suggested writing to Acme Co., or did I
misread that?
Happy and safe birding to all.

>I understand your concern about the Windex commercial with the bird who
flies into the window. I certainly fear for our birds, but how can we
regulate comedy? The Disney megahit animated movie, Finding Nemo, also has
a running joke of a bird (pelican) smashing into a window. A current
Budweiser Light commercial has a bird smash into a window, as well as
humans. In slapstick comedy, humans and animals regularly are in faux
situations of danger to life and limb. What about Wile E. Coyote and Road
Runner? Write the Acme Co.?@##$%!!? =3D^)
