We are looking for assistance and support  for opposition to the planned=20
"wind farm" on Allegheny Mountain in Highland County.  Developers have=20
plans to construct over 30 units- 400'+ wind towers and generators with=20
strobe lights and rotor lights and substations along ridges that include=20
Bear Mountain along Co, Rd. 601.  Many birders and outdoor enthusiasts=20
are familiar with this road along the VA/WV border.  Views from this=20
road extend to the north past Spruce Knob, WV and to the south and east=20
past Shenandoah Mtn, and beyond.  Our farm sits at 4400' in elevation in=20
direct view of the proposed project.  We are currently a site on the=20
Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail and our business offers an=20
educational venue for the outdoor enthusiast in a remote and unspoiled=20
setting as well as the opportunity to experience  the  unique mountain=20
ecology, flora and fauna of this region of the Allegheny Front above=20
4000'.   We are both sensitive to the ecological and cultural damage=20
that such a project can have on our community in Highland.  We are=20
proponents of alternative energy, but are sensitive to locating such a=20
large industrial scale wind utility in such a pristine and ecologically=20
sensitive area like Highland.  For additional information please contact=20
