On a lighter note,
It was a very warm and pretty morning yesterday at Ferndale Park.
The towpath between the canal and the Appomattox river was surprisingly
free of debris. The river was steaming and had a very nice sound, and it
didn't matter if there were not great-big numbers of birds. There were
lots of Yellow-billed Cuckoos, and Red-eyed Vireos, and cardinals, and
Blue Jays, and woodpeckers, and chickadees, and titmice, and crows and
such...and the cutest, very young, quadruplet squirrels playing out of a
tree den that you could ever see. We will do it again.
