[va-richmond-general] Tree (and bird) identification class

Today was the day of a tree identification class with Chesterfield Parks and
Recreation, led by Mark Battista, at Dutch Gap. We identified a number of
trees using a tree finder guide.
I also saw some birds, including some shorebirds in flight that did not come
close enough for me to identify. Others include turkey vultures, a mourning
dove, Canada geese honking in flight, and a bird perched on barbwire. I have
attached a picture of this bird. Mark identified it first as a phoebe, then
as a pewee. The two birds look similar in the bird book, and the colors in
the bird were hard to see in the bird against the blue sky.
