Opportunities are still available to volunteer on the Presquile NWR Planting
Project! Come help the National Audubon Society, US Fish and Wildlife Service,
James River Association, and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay along with other
local volunteers from the community as we restore 20 acres of habitat at
Presquile NWR with over 3500 native trees and shrubs. Presquile NWR sits at
the center of a recently identified Audubon Important Bird Area (IBA) ? the
James River Wetlands IBA ? and our efforts here will help to improve habitat
and water quality throughout the IBA. Spaces are filling fast but we still
have room for volunteers on Friday, September 22nd and Tuesday, Oct. 3. So far
we have planted over 700 trees with the help of concerned citizens like you!
Don?t miss this opportunity to help improve habitat for birds in your area!
You may sign up to volunteer at:
http://www.jamesriverassociation.org/watershed_plant.html
We look forward to seeing you at the Refuge!
