All we got were grackles, this time in a huge flock of about 50 birds. I had
to put the food out twice today. But the hummingbirds were still there. They
vanished after Isabel.

Anticipating Ernesto, we filled the feeders last night, and all day the
thistle seed feeder has been covered with goldfinches, as many as 12 at a
time, with another 5 or 6 mobbing the nearby "squirrel-proof" feeder of
sunflower seed.
