[va-richmond-general] Shirley Plantation - Sooty Tern, Eared Grebe

I birded Shirley Plantation this morning (7am-noon) with Allen Bryan, and
later met Adam D'Onofrio. Many birds; highlight being a Juv. SOOTY TERN seen
flying over the impoundment and then it or another seen on Rte 10 near the
Harrison Bridge rd. Other Tern species - CASPIAN 12, FORSTERS 20, LEAST 1,
BLACK 3-5, Sterna sp. 3.
2 Eared Grebe on the impoundment.
Glossy Ibis 8
20 species of shorebird present.
Semi-P Plover 10-15
Killdeer 40+
Am. Golden Plover 2 ad.
Black-Bellied Plover 1 ad
Yellowlegs 250ish; probably 90% Lesser
Spotted Sandpiper 3
Willet 1
Semi-P Sandpiper 75+
Least Sandpiper 50
Sanderling 2-3
Pectoral Sandpiper 30
Buff-Breasted Sandpiper 2
White-rumped Sandpiper 7
Stilt Sandpiper 6
