I'M JEALOUS! I want to see a Chestnut Sided!
I went to Pocahontas again on Sunday, but this time had to pick a different
location (Dance Road wasn't accessible due to utility crews blocking the road
doing repairs). I didn't see as many birds until late in the evening, right at
the entrance of the park. The Prothonotaries were taunting me from the edges
of the woods, calling and flying back and forth, and there were Pine and even a
few Yellow's there, too. Then one of the park rangers drove up and we got to
chatting, so that was it for the evening.
Hope everyone's enjoying the cool weather and that I meet up with folks at the
Eastern Shore Festival this coming weekend (whoever is also going).

I can confirm Irene's experience about the warbler wave today. I live a
little further up off Beach Road (closer to Rt. 10). This morning I had Black
and White, Chestnut Sided and Black-throated Blue in my yard. The Chestnut
Sided was a first for the yard list.
