This morning we saw a Red-eyed Vireo feeding two young among the azaleas
outside our kitchen window. The young looked like adults but had short tails,
and
were flight capable. This seems late? Has the wet weather delayed breeding,
or perhaps earlier broods were lost?
I've just come back from Yellowstone, where I saw two separate Lesser Scaup
families with very young (about 1 week old babies). Sadly I don't think
they'll make it -- there was snow on two separate days while I was there.
