[va-richmond-general] Hummingbirds Crossing the Gulf of Mexico

Does anyone know about how long it takes a hummingbird after leaving =
Richmond, VA, to start across the Gulf of Mexico? After wanting rain =
more than about anything for a few months now, I hear that a tropical =
storm is coming in from the Gulf only about 2 days after my female =
hummingbird took off for the winter (the male left about a week =
earlier). One more thing to worry about!
