Join RAS on Saturday May 29 as Clark White of the Cape Henry Audubon Society
leads us to Piney Grove in Wakefield, VA to observe the Red-cockaded
Woodpecker. Other birds likely; Summer Tanager. Brown-headed Nuthatch and
Red-headed Woodpecker. We will leave the *Virginia Diner on Route 460 at
5:30 am in order to see these little guys as they leave their cavities.
Piney Grove is visited by permission only and we are fortunate to have Clark
share this trip with us. Be prepared for ticks. No facilities in the
immediate area-bring water, snacks, sunscreen and dress for the weather. If
interested in attending please contact Julie Kacmarcik @ 530.3660 after 830

If you've never been or even if you have this trip is worth the early
rising.
