The Audubon Walk led by Ben and Betsy Saunders on Saturday, May 2 was 
well attended in spite of gloomy weather. The birds seemed a little shy, 
perhaps because of the overcast. We did have some good looks, but didn't 
find the variety of warblers we expected. Highlights for me were my 
first Acadian Flycatcher of the year, good looks at Prothonotary Warbler 
and Indigo Bunting, and being buzzed by a Pileated Woodpecker as I 
walked back to the car. Warblers seen or heard: Black-throated Blue, 
Yellow-throated, Yellow-rumped, Prothonotary, Common Yellowthroat, N. 
Parula. Complete list below -- I had to duck out early, so Betsy's list 
may be longer.

This morning, again in spite of a heavy overcast, I spent an hour and 
three quarters at 42nd Street and had better luck. Warblers seen or 
heard: Northern Parula, Black-throated Blue, Yellow-throated, 
Yellow-rumped, Black-and-white, Redstart, Prothonotary, Ovenbird, and 
Common Yellowthroat. Other species of interest: Scarlet Tanager, 
Swainson's and Wood Thrushes, a late Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, and my first 
Spotted Sandpiper of the year. I heard reports of Veery and 
Rose-breasted Grosbeak from Caroline Coe as I was leaving.
