[va-richmond-general] Least Bittern @ Henricus: 29 May 2002

Four of us had excellent views of the Least Bittern about 10am today. The
little guy was directly in front of the first platform approx. 30' out. He
was almost too close for binoculars. Later I heard what sounded to be at
"least" 2 Bitterns calling far to right of the platform (as you face the
marsh).
Other birds seen/heard just standing on the platform:
Osprey
Yellow Warbler
Indigo Bunting
Wood Duck ( with 6 young in tow)
Yellow Throated Warbler
Redstart
Red shouldered Hawk
Common Yellowthroat
and the usual crowd.......
