About 10 days ago 6 waxwings showed up in my yard in Hanover County about 2
miles south of Hanover Courthouse. Next day there were 15, then 25, then 40.
For nearly a week the 40 have come in and out of the yard roosting in the
hollies and drinking from a concrete birdbath resting on the ground. They
were still here this morning. There's a lot of natural holly in the woods
around my yard and this year we didn't have as many robins as usual so there
are
still berries.
