[va-richmond-general] bird observations/questions

Heard a bird singing in a tree by the school this morning but I didn't have
binoculars with me to get a good look at it. It sounded somewhat like a Black
and White Warbler, but much higher in pitch. I didn't get much of a look at it,
but it seemed bigger than most warblers and rather uniform in color (it might
have been drab, but it was overcast and, as I said, no bin.'s).
Also, while taking the kids on a nature scavenger hunt, we investigated a
beat-up bluebird nest box that some bird had apparently gotten to, as the
entrance hole had clearly been enlarged. There was a nest inside, which I
initially thought was old, but I discovered three turquoise blue eggs in it. My
first thought was American Robin, but they're not cavity nesters. Are there any
other birds that lay eggs that color? I haven't seen any Robins in the vicinity
of the nest, but I have seen and heard Eastern Bluebirds, Chipping Sparrows,
and Northern Rough-winged Swallow around there. The eggs were probably about 1
1/2 - 2 inches long, very wide at one end, and maybe an inch across. Thoughts?
