[va-richmond-general] Red-tail with nesting material; Cardwell Rd.

Driving south on Chippenham a few minutes ago I saw one of the red-tails at
the Sherbrook intersection carry a stick up to the already large nest the
kids and I have been watching for a couple of years now. Yesterday out on
Cardwell Rd. (Crozier area) I saw my first phoebe this year, a kestrel
hunting along the road, and a very interesting pond with a big brushy patch
that reminds me of the place frequented by SEOWs out near Gordonsville.
Anyone a regular birder out that way? Lots of raptors all around that area
all the way over to Broad/250. There's also a long stretch of wet meadow on
the left as you head out to Cardwell along Patterson after it becomes a two
lane road (River Rd., I think), but it all seems to be posted private. Is
there a place where you can park without bothering anyone and still be able
to study the meadow? Appreciate any info.
