It's remotely possible I guess but more likely it was a Great Blue Heron. Those
are all over this area, anywhere there is water with live things to eat.

I am very new to birding, but I think a pelican flew right in front of me
this morning when I was heading west on Patterson Ave. just East of West Creek.
Are there pelicans in Richmond?
