[va-richmond-general] Lots of Birds

This weekend has been a nice weekend for backyard birdwatching at my house. I
saw a red shouldered hawk again very briefly yesterday morning. Yesterday
afternoon we had a visit from a downy woodpecker. Chickadees and finches are
becoming regulars at our feeder, and even fly up when I'm outside on the porch.
Also yesterday, we had a male cardinal come right up on our porch and today a
female came up with the finches. A very small tufted timouse came up today. As
I was sitting on the porch this afternoon, a male white breasted nuthatch flew
up and checked out the feeder. I know these are pretty common birds, but for a
novice, it's pretty neat getting an opportunity to see them up close and
identifying them.
