They were in two different areas.  The accipiter nest is a location that's
been known and monitored for several years now.  Sometimes they re-use, but
this year it looks a little rotted out.  Have you seen your owl again?

Seems like trouble brewing. Was the Cooper's hawk looking at the cardinal as
lunch? Why would the cardinal set up a nest near a predator? I know that I
saw a red-shouldered hawk perched high in a tree near my home. I did not see
any other birds in our yard for the rest of the day.

This morning I had an hour before church and found a female cardinal
carrying nesting material along the trail from the parking lot.  One of the
Coopers hawks was sunning itself near the boardwalk.  The old nest is still
there, but it looks a little ragged.  Wonder if they will build new this
time?  No owls of any kind (still looking, Pat).  Have a great day!
