We have put some cotton bolls out on the deck and the House Finches and
chickadees just love it.  They carry beaks full off to various sites (the
House Finches seem to have group nest sites in the English ivy on a
neighbor's tree while the chickadee is across the street in a bluebird
box).

This evening the male bluebird had a territorial fight with another
chickadee over a box out back.  Other boxes are available, but what makes
one box "choice" is known only to the birds!!

The season has begun - we know the wrens are somewhere but haven't found
out where.
