Apparently our recording by TIVO worked fine, although we haven't watched the
whole ting yet - maybe there is a glitch there. We are on COMCAST, so maybe
they were up and the cable broadcast went out, but the broadcast over the
airwaves didn't. There are other times on both PBS channels plus the digital HD
channel almost every day at one time or other. The list is long. Check the
listings as Wendy suggested and you will find one you can watch. Maybe the
General Assembly needs to watch that as well! It's called "the Tale of Two
Species", and it's the story of how the Horseshoe Crab and The Red Knot became
tied together.

I had the same problem regardless of whether the signal came in on cable or
satellite (we have both here in Powhatan) so, I have to think it was a PBS
problem. The sound did come back after about 10 minutes. There are some
repeats scheduled, see http://www.ideastations.org/

Thanks for telling us about this program.

I started looking at it at 8 pm tonight, but unfortunately at 8:18 pm, the
audio of the program went completely silent. I still got the picture, but
not the sound. I checked the other channels. Channels 21 and 24 produced
sound, and Channel 23 still was silent regardless of whether I was getting
the signal from the TV, the VCR, or the Comcast converter.

Is there another time this program is on?

On the 'Nature' program Sunday evening from 8-9 pm there will be a program
entitled, "Crash:A Tale of Two Species" about the Red Knot and Horseshoe
Crab. This is Channel 23, PBS, in Richmond.

John stated, "We tried to get a partial moratorium in Virginia but the
scientists did not know about Red Knot populations in Virginia. The Nature
Conservancy did some studies last year on the seaside of the Eastern Shore
that showed the Red Knot population being greater in Virginia than any other
  state."
