Over 13 birders came to the annual Richmond Audubon Society February trip to 
George Washington's Birthplace National Monument and many continued on to the 
town of Colonial Beach. Both locations are in Westmoreland County.

Highlights were hearing the Tundra Swans and many Bald Eagle sightings at the 
park.Scaup and Ruddy Ducks were in abundance in Colonial Beach. A few Scoter 
were offshore in both locations. I saw a flock of Wild Turkey just a few 
hundred feet east of the grounds of the old school on Route 3 near the turnoff 
for Colonial Beach. tHE Common Goldeneye was a life list bird for several 
participants.
