I meant to respond to this earlier, but I've had a busy week. I'm sorry I
didn't help out here -- I was on the Eastern Shore that weekend and did my
birding there Friday through Monday. Hundreds of surf scoters were lining
the Bay Bridge Tunnel. When I submitted the report Monday night, they were
the only ones listed for Virginia. Had some Green-winged Teals in the creek
on our family farm too.
I sure hope somebody reported the falcons here. They are visible on or near
the BB&T building almost every day.
Also, I had a fun time helping out at the Maymont Flower Show Saturday. If
I'm available next year, I'd be glad to do it again. Thanks to the
committee for putting together an outstanding exhibit!

species and I hope someone has found the following species (because we still
need them).
> Peregrine Falcon (downtown Richmond)
> Screech owl
> Horned Grebe
> Duck other than Mallard and Ring-necked
> American Kestrel
> American Coot
> Killdeer
> Gulls
> Phoebe
> Fish Crow
> Wrens other than Carolina and Winter
> Catbird
> Thrasher
> Palm warbler
> Fox Sparrow and other sparrows (except
> Song, White-throated)
> Baltimore Oriole
> Pine Siskin
> Evening Grosbeak
>
> Today, John and Caroline Coe got the Common Redpoll. Jim Strawn got a
Sharp-shinned Hawk, Pine Warbler and one more (that I'm sorry I can't
remember). 52+23 possible species=75. We could really bring this species
count up! Sue
