Just curious...did anyone respond to your email with suggestions? Never saw a
response and I was curious what you might've seen as sparrows tend to be the
bane of my existence.

We saw a very dark sparrow this morning in the lower park of Forest Hill Park
near the dam. I may not have enough info but here's what I saw:
very dark with streaking overall. yellowish throat patch, buffy/yellow eye
stripe with yellowish lores (maybe), faint wing bars, a very thin stripe down
the center of the head. Does that make any sense?
Thanks for any thoughts. I'll go back tomorrow to find it again. There was a
large mixed flock of sparrows there this morning. very active.
  Laura
