FreeLists / va-richmond-general / [va-richmond-general] Lesser Black-backed Gull

We did not find the Glaucous or Iceland Gulls on Saturday, but did see
Lesser Black-backed Gull, possibly two, from the observation platform at
the  Civil War Walk on Tredegar Street.  

However, birding seemed trivial with search helicopters circling
overhead. The rescue team asked us to be on the lookout for a missing
kayaker. As we scanned the water for a bit of submerged color,  there was
some consolation to think that she died doing something she truly loved.

Enjoy today.  Life is precious.
