[va-richmond-general] A-T Flycatcher: Caution

Neale & I got there this am around 11 - we saw not a soul from the Parking
Lot until we were on the floodwall Path - really deserted - when a ( presumably
) homeless man emerged from the RR Yards and walked on to the Path between us
and the start of the Path. He left a large back pack on the slope with
something metallic sticking out from it, and his presence not far from where we
were
scanning left us very uneasy - sufficiently so that we decided discretion was
by far the better part of valor - and we left ( without seeing the bird ). As
we passed him he had, concealed, in one hand, a metallic object. We never saw
another soul after we passed him.
It's pretty people-less there, and I would advise caution and preferably not
going there alone, at least during the week. Of small consolation were 3 FM
Common Mergs in the river on a rock right under the bridge.
Anyone want to go tomorrow am around 10:30?
