Subject: Land-Use Trends at Wildlife Society Meeting
The Wildlife Society-Virginia Chapter will be holding its annual winter
meeting March 26-28 in Richmond. The theme of the meeting is "Changing
Land-Use Trends." (See Word document attached.) You do not need to be a
member of the Chapter to attend this informative exchange of ideas. The
current network of wildlife professionals needs active participation by
educators, private business leaders, and other citizens who are concerned
about conservation issues: this means YOU. Whether your special
interest is butterflies, amphibians, birds, plants, whatever: land-use
affects plant and animal communities, and meetings like these seek to
look at "the big picture." Don't lose-sight-of-the forest-for-the trees
and be left out of these important discussions, simply because "I don't
usually go to those meetings." Ask yourself, "why not?" There should be
more people attending these meetings than wildlife biologists!!!!!
