Left Out in the Cold: How do Birds Survive Winter?
Birds can be thought of as the “hotrods” of the animal kingdom. They
“live fast” and need a lot of fuel. How do they survive when it’s cold,
the nights are long, and food is in short supply? Dr. Andrew Dolby, a
University of Mary Washington Biology Professor, will talk about how birds use
both their bodies and their smarts to beat winter. Suitable for all ages;
activities for kids; pre-registration not required, talk and activities
included in price of general admission.
