[va-bird] Murray's Pond - Roanoke

I made a brief stop at Murray's Pond this afternoon (Sun.) to see what
ducks may have come in. There are still no large numbers of ducks but there was
a
pretty good variety. Ducks and other waterfowl seen included a Common Loon,
2 Pied-billed Grebes, 1 Coot, 6 Ring-necked Ducks, 6 Green-winged Teal, 3
Black Ducks, 2 American Wigeon, 8 Gadwall, 15 Mallards, 4 Hooded Mergansers, 4
Bufflehead, 12 Canada Geese, plus a Kingfisher.
The Long-tailed Duck that had been previously reported at nearby Walrond
Park was found dead this past Wed. Dec. 6.
