VA Birders,
During a late afternoon visit to the Hunting Creek mudflats, I spotted an
Orange-crowned Warbler on the Alexandria side near the parking lot. The bird
was in the vine-covered bushes between the big brick wall and the mudflats.
It appeared to be solid olive green on top and dingy yellow on the bottom.
Other interesting birds included two Ruby-crowned Kinglets, about a dozen
Killdeer, and a Red-tailed Hawk stirring up the gulls. There was no sign of
the
California Gull.
