[va-bird] Mason Neck SP, Fairfax County, Dec. 10

The Saturday bird walk was chilly but productive. Songbirds were active as
reported elsewhere, almost as though a storm was coming. Highlights were
three adult BALD EAGLES, five TUNDRA SWANS (three adults and two juveniles),
a pair of HOODED MERGANSERS, a RING-NECKED DUCK, and a GOLDEN-CROWNED
KINGLET flashing his bright crown from within a brushy thicket. Species

Advance warning: there will be no guided bird walk on Saturday, December 24.
Other than that, the walk meets at the visitor center at 7am. Parking is
$4/car. All levels of birders are welcome to come along. Please contact me
