Happy December,
To provide the other book end to Wallace Coffey's posting let me relate
that the VSO Back Bay field trip yesterday (Sunday) watched a Pacific Loon in
direct comparison with a large mix of Common and Red-throated Loons in the
ocean just beyond the surf at Back Bay NWR around 1 pm. The distance between
these two sightings of the same unusual species in Virginia must set some sort
of record.
