Well - walking in Dyke Marsh - Alexandria - late this p.m. - waiting on the
snow - I saw a bird dart into some tangles. I turned and started to pish -
seeing if it would reappear. Within seconds, I sensed some movement behind me
and as I started to turn, heard some - "flap - flapping". Flying away from me
at eye level was a Cooper's Hawk. Must have thought my red wool cap was the
grandaddy of all cardinals - glad it wasn't one of the eagles or I might
have wound up in the nest down in pipeline bay...food for another day - Has
anyone seen Rich lately?...Rich Rieger
