Fellow Birders,
Through the morning of December 3, Fletcher Smith has banded 110 "new"
Saw-whets Owls on the southern tip of the Eastern Shore. He has subsequently
recaptured 17 of these birds. Additionally, Fletcher has 3 foreign recoveries,
1 banded on Assateague this fall, 1 banded on Assateague in 2001, and a third
originally banded at Cape May in 2001.
With slightly less than 2 weeks to go for this research season, we hope he
will continue to have productive nights afield.
