[va-bird] Roaches Run on GW Parkway

A quick stop off on the way to shopping around 3pm resulted in the following
birds. The winds were making my eyes tear up constantly, so getting a good
look at some of the more distant birds was difficult. In particular, at first
I thought I saw an Osprey come flying in, but in hindsight, it was probably a
third-year Bald Eagle. The eye stripe was very prominent and the face seemed
very white around that eye stripe. Hope someone else keeps a sharp eye in the
area as we may have a late Osprey.
20 Hooded Mergansers
Pair of American Wigeon
dozen Buffleheads
6 Blue Heron
Mallards - didn't count #s
9 Double Crested Cormorants
1 or 2 Pied Billed Grebe, maybe a Scaup or two.
3 Mature Greater Black Back Gulls
Smattering of immature Herring Gulls
Many Ring Billed Gulls
