[va-bird] Eastern Shore and Virginia Beach, 1 December

A Common Eider (female) was present off the tip of the jetty of South Thimble
Island of the CBBT (first island) this morning, and about 12 Lesser
Black-backed Gulls were scattered among the islands. Other ducks here
included 30 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Mallards (in flight), 5 Bufflehead,
one Long-tailed Duck, and many Surf (and a few Black) Scoters. A search of
Virginia Beach for Painted Bunting and Little Gull was not successful, but
the gannet show off Rudee Inlet was phenomenal.
