Come one come all to the November meeting of the Northern VA Bird Club, 
Thursday, Nov 10th. Early bird refreshments at 7:30 pm, meeting at 8:00. Club 
member Charles Studholme will present "Gestalt Birding" - a way of seeing new 
or 
familiar birds in context, connecting clues such as posture, habitat and 
behavior. Chuck will also share facts about shade grown coffee as he treats us 
to a 
freshly brewed sample.

In addition, Kevin Monroe, from National Audubon, will have handouts and 
information pertaining to the "Audubon at Home" program. Kevin is new to the 
NoVa 
area and is working hard to promote this fine endeavor. Let's all welcome him 
to the area.

NVBC's -THE WANDERING SISKINS (three of us, at least) -will be present to 
share our trophies from the Kiptopeke Challenge. After a few near misses, the 
team finished first this year in species seen (AM. Woodcock trophy) as well as 
monies raised (Piping Plover). Many of you played a role in supporting the 
team, 
so come on out and enjoy (y)our moment in the sun.

Lastly, we will also be holding a book exchange. If you have any (hardcover) 
books on birds or birding that are accumulating dust on the shelf, and it's 
time for them to move on, please bring them for the exchange table. Leave one, 
take one, or just take one! - everything must go! Leftovers will be donated to 
a local library in honor of the club.

Meeting will be at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church - 8922 Little River Tpke. - 
approx 1.8 miles west of the Beltway. At the fifth traffic light, turn right 
and then left onto the service road. Pass the Firehouse and turn right into the
